Bolesworth Castle

This historic Grade II listed building in Cheshire dates back to the 1750's. Home to the Barbour family for over 160 years, it was a privelege to be trusted with three fireplace renovations in this magnificent property. Bolesworth castle is a popular destination, hosting a range of events throughout the year.

This formal room required an updated appliance whilst keeping the impressive carved fireplace in situ. We made a custom back panel and added a traditional electric basket, which offered a practical solution by sealing off the old open chimney and provides an instant feature at the press of a button.

We had the privelege of updating three beautiful fireplaces at Bolesworth castle in 2022. The impressive residence underwent a large renovation project and we were tasked with ensuring that the fireplaces functional without disrupting the period fire surrounds. Previously the green room, we supplied a large windowed, efficient electric fire which sealed off an unused chimney and offered a solution by way of using a flame effect only to create the illusion of warmth without the fan heater.

This impressive pillared fireplace and over mantle is the main feature of the round room. We transformed what was an inefficient open fire to a portrait, realistic electric fire. We think the end result looked great!
